A delegation led by Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban's Minister of Industry and Commerce, has travelled to Russia for the 'Russia-Islamic World' Economic Forum in Kazan.
The forum participants are set to discuss topics including trade, technology, Islamic finance, and investment strategies.
The 15th International Economic Forum 'Russia-Islamic World' commenced on May 14 and is scheduled to be held till May 19.
According to RIA Novosti, the Russian state news agency, the forum aims to foster an environment of "trust and cooperation”.
Reports from Russian state media indicate that the forum has attracted experts from Russia, countries of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and other nations.
In related news, the head of the Russian Trade Centre in Afghanistan announced that trade between Russia and Afghanistan has now reached one billion dollars.
