The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees has announced that 573 Afghan migrants were forcibly repatriated from Pakistan in a single day.
The ministry stated that these migrants returned on Monday through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees quoted border officials as stating that 52 families, comprising 270 people, were deported through the Torkham crossing, while another 52 families, comprising 273 people, were deported through the Spin Boldak crossing.
Sources from the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees confirmed that all these migrants were forcibly returned from Pakistan.
The ministry also mentioned that among the returning migrants, two individuals were released from a Pakistani prison and deported to Afghanistan.
The statement from the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees noted that the group provided 10,000 Afghanis to each family and referred them to aid organisations for further assistance.
